CYCLIC VOLTAMMETRY OF CHLOROAURIC ACID WITH GLASSY CARBON ELECTRODE IN ACETONITRILE

Abstract

The electrochemical behaviour of chloroauric acid in acetonitrile has been investigated over glassy carbon electrode. The reduction of [AuCl₄]^- initially forms [AuCl₂]^- before deposition on the electrode as Au(0). In the consecutive reduction steps chloride ions were released.
