MESSAGE OF THE VICE CHANCELLOR, ASSAM DON BOSCO UNIVERSITY
It is a matter of great pride for us at the University, that within a very short span, we are launching a fourth journal of international standards: ‘Journal of Applied and Fundamental Sciences’.
This journal has been on the radar of our Departments of Basic and Fundamental Sciences, ever since the University began the NABSET series of national conferences to look at the latest developments in Basic Sciences that have an impact on engineering and technology with special reference to the latest trends in teaching and research. It is a series that carved out a place of distinction among the conferences being organized in our country.
International in the composition of its editorial and advisory boards, and stringently adhering to the norms of peer review, this Journal of Applied and Fundamental Sciences will provide a forum for the publication of original, significant and current scientific research findings and quality review articles in both fundamental and applied sciences.
The journal will also be committed to scientific correspondence and commentaries, and contain news and views, comments on published research papers, opinions on scientific activity, interviews with scientists, book reviews, etc. Special issues of the journal will also be devoted to conference proceedings and other chosen areas of study.
Dr Samrat Dey (Editor in Chief) and his group of Editors (Dr Monmoyuri Baruah, Dr Nibedita Kapil and Dr Kanan Ojah) have singularly focused on making this journal nothing less than a referral journal in the years to come as it gains currency and momentum with the quality of its papers and reviews.
They have the best wishes of everyone here at the University to achieve just that – a definite role and place among the many, many journals devoted to fundamental and applied sciences.
